Episode 3 – Remote leadership
Home office and/or teams scattered over various locations: Today, leadership happens remotely. What is different when physical proximity is missing? Is leadership from a distance different at all? Latest since Corona, one thing is certain: Remote leadership is one of the new key competencies of successful leaders.
Whether leadership with physical proximity or leadership from a distance, the same things are at stake: How can we encourage self-responsibility and trust and how can we create connection, the "we" feeling that people need in order to engage and feel motivated? Physical proximity alone does not guarantee any of these, but something else is needed, and that has to do with your own attitude and with understanding how people connect with each other. In this episode I will show that remote leadership is by no means a new concept and that digitalization enables us to transfer many well-proven theories and practices to the virtual world.
